Sky Tower

Sorry, darting about all over the place with never a minute spare. Result is, I still don't know how to get any our photos in here. Still, I can tell you about our evening meal over in the Skytower. It was a superb evening, their Christmas present o us. A delicious meal, none of which I had ever tried before, in the most exciting setting. Without our photos, look up Skytower and Auckland on Google and you'll get the idea. It's an amazing experience. A restaurant in the clouds, or nearly so. The deck which is the dining area, slowly rotates, showing the diners the superb views across the city. Anne, who is worried by heights, sat at the most distant part of the table away from the window but later, seemed quite ok on the observation deck as we watched the sun set across the bay. There were a few problems, however, one involving the fact that the toilets are in the central column. If you spend too long in the loo, your table has rotated away from you and you have to go in search for it. One gent sat at the wrong table, eating someone else's meal for quite ten minutes before the correct person came back and evicted him. The other is to do with fear of heights. One lady, on the table next to us had her eyes tight shut throughout the meal. She'd had three mouthfuls of tablecloth before someone kindly pushed her plate a little closer.
We're off to Rotorua soon. We have the hire car now and we're off without Heather and Niles for two days. Then back here and a quick flight to Christchurch.
